Honouliuli Confinement Camps
In March 1943, the U.S. Army ran the largest and longest-used confinement camp in Honouliuli. In this camp was housed both civilian interment camps and prisoners of war. This followed the bombing at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 when the state was declared to be under Martial Law.
